Surprise Pocket Card

I was not sure which way I wanted to go with this card at first. I knew I wanted to make a tag and watercolor it with my Close To My Heart Ink Pads, but that is all I know I wanted to do. Once I was finished with the tag everything else fell into place. I really like the effect of watercolors, whether you use real watercolor paint, watercolor pencils or the ink from the lid of your ink pad. The neat shaped tag is cut at 4" from the new Cricut Artiste Cartridge. The flower stamped I used is from Close To My Heart and the sentiment and white embossing powder are from Papertrey Ink. The ric rac ribbon can be found for a $1 at Michaels. I used white embroidery floss to stitch on the pocket.

I will be entering this card into the challenges at:
1. Capture the Moment- #77 Ink Pads as Watercolors
2. Simon Says Stamp Challenge- Bingo (Ribbon/Free/Blooms)

If you still need to purchase your very own Cricut Artiste Cartridge or Art Philosphy Cartridge, you can purchase HERE.

Valentine's Day Layout

I finally made my Valentines layout!!! One month down...lots more to go. I got my candies from the Cricut Imagine Yummy cartridge and my title was welded together from the Songbird cartridge.
On the right page there is a cute pocket that has a pull out for journaling or a hidden picture. The tag was cut from Cricut Art Philosophy. I decided to go the extra (time consuming mile) and hand stitch the area around the journal pouch...and I'm glad I did because I LOVE the way it looks as always. I have not laid my pictures down yet. I will put some that we take on Valentine's Day. Hope you like it.

I will be entering this layout in a challenge at:

Challenge Card- A Little Birdie Told Me

Hello, I am entering this card into a challenge.

I picked one piece of paper and let everything else inspire me from there. The sentiment was actually cut from the printed cardstock I used for the base layer of the card. I then cut a 2.5" scallop from Mini Monograms to layer the 2" circle shape sentiment on. The card is 5.5x5.5". The rectangles are 2x3" and layered with 2.25x3.25" rectangles. I actually used a white piece of card stock to make the folded card base (since that is my thickest most sturdiest cardstock on hand) and just colored the edge with a black Copic marker called 100 Black and you'd never know the difference. I stamped the hummingbird on the paper. I also used my Sew Easy tool (for the first time ever, even though I've had it for months-LOL) and did some hand stitching above the bird. By the way, if you don't have any Sew Easy thread you can use embroidery floss with the Sew Easy tool, which works great and only cost $0.20 at Michaels...and I think Joann sells the same brand too. I LOVE the way the stitching turned out. I made some pearl dots on the card with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen. There is also a looped edge black ribbon across the card. I'm really digging this card!
