I'm Guest Designer on Die Cuttin' Divas Today!

Hello Crafty friends,

Today is an exciting day as I am a guest designer at Die Cuttin’ Divas. Today's theme is the Three R's:  make something with a rosette, ribbon and rhinestones. Believe it or not, this is actually my try at rosettes. Turns out they are super quick and easy to make and they add great dimension to your project. The pink paper with the black dots was made on my Cricut Imagine using the Black and White Cartridge (which I heart).

On the first card with the tic tac toe, I cut the squares with Spellbinders Square Swatches. I used the 2nd to smallest die to go on my 5.5" card. I used my Sew Easy Stamper to make the lines between the squares. I made my rosettes from 3 strips of paper cut at 1/2" x 6" and then scored them every 1/4". I used ribbon as my line to mark my tic tac toe win. I used some iRocks for my rhinestones. I inked the edges by using some Spun Sugar Distress Ink on the edge of the card. I did not put a sentiment on this card because I'm not sure for whom or what occasion I will pass this card out, so I will stamp this one later when the time comes.

The second card is a standard A2 size and I used the pink and black dot paper for the background. I used this really wide 1.5" black and white striped ribbon. The rosette is made from a strip of paper cut at 1.5" x 12 inches. I cut at 1" circle for the center and added a pink flower rhinestone on top of the center. I glued the rosette on top of the ribbon. Next, I added a tag with a sentiment, both which are from My Creative time, called Teeny Tags.
I really LOVE the way these cards came out--they are so cute. And you don't even need a Cricut to make them (you can easily use pattern paper from a stack and the Cricut Imagine wouldn't be necessary).

Thanks for dropping by.

Don't forget to hop on over to Die Cuttin’ Divas and take a look around. Crafty friends don't feel shy, new followers are always welcome here at Sew Sweet N Crafty. Continue the fun and take a look at my other projects.

Celebrate 50 Card

Today I am sharing a fabulous card I made for one of my dear friends, who turns 50 years old this weekend. This bday is such a milestone in her life and I wanted to be sure I made a card that was extra neat-o. I used some Kiwi Lane templates to make the two wavy line borders on the top of the card. I added some glittery thick cardboard stickers for the number 50. The birdcage is a sticker that is 3D with glitter and some cute little birds inside. I heat embossed the word Celebrate. I love the way it turned the card has a fun celebration feel to it and yet calm and classy, just what I was aiming for in this 50th birthday card. Have a great day!

St. Patrick's Day Layout March 2012

I made this St. Patrick's Day layout to go into our 2012 family scrapbook for the month of March. I do at least one layout for each month of the year. I started this tradition last year. I am just loving the end results and I really LOVE the way the cork looks on a layout. I will definitely be buying some more and adding it to other pages. The "Lucky" is a sticker I had in my stash from last year that I never ended up using. For the black and cream rose print paper I used my Imagine machine to print a sheet of paper from the Imagine Black and White Cartridge. I used Cricut Paper Doll Dress up for the shamrocks. I love the way it looks with this SPD them, I was going to use a black and cream gingham pattern paper, but opted for something more girly and out of the SPD box. I got my inspiration from MPS Designer, Court, of Courts Crafts. Thanks, Court!

I will enter this into the following challenges:
1. My Pink Stamper- Use green challenge
2. Little Scrap Pieces- Luck of the Irish challenge- http://littlescrappieces.blogspot.com/
3. Bitten By the Bug 2- http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2012/03/shamrock.html
4. Scrappy Moms Stamps- http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com/
Have a blessed day. Have fun and shake your shamrock. lol

She is...layout

Happy Monday!
Today, I am showing a layout I made for myself. Yes, every now and then I make a layout about me. Hehehe. I love the way this turned out. My colors and theme are meant to go with the dress I was wearing. I just need to print my pictures and add them on. The white rectangle and squares are where the pictures will be placed. One of the things I like best about this layout is the magenta colored ribbon you see on the left page. It was done using a Sew Easy Ribbon Tool, which I heart. It is very easy to use. I cut the leaves and flower from Cricut Life's A Beach. The journal tag and the banners were cut with dies from MCT. I used an EK Scallop Dots border punch on some areas. I cut the letter from Songbird (the font on there is gorgeous). I will be running the journal tag through my computer for a personalized sentiment (I will put an update picture on this post when that is done). I hope you like it. Ta da...
