Back again with a card I made today. I used a zipper die from Papertrey Ink that once the zipper is pulled off will reveal a hidden sentiment. I cut the flowers out of felt with the My Creative Time flower dies. I punched the butterfly out of vellum with a Martha butterfly punch. I decided the bottom was too bare, so I added some pearls with a Viva Decor Pen. I like how this card turned out.
I will enter this card into the challenge at 3 Girl Jam- Challenge #1 Butterflies & Bows.

Children's Summer Holiday Challenge Card 4
My daughter (Little Miss Crafty) is back today with another card she made to enter into the Kids Challenge over at Simon Says Stamps Challenge. Here is the card she made. She is very big on Hello Kitty and this card is similar to one she previously made. This one features a ticket edge card base and a popped up flower. She loves pop dots, so I let her use all my cheapy ones from the $1 store that I do not prefer to use on my projects. Thanks for stopping by. She is really enjoying all the sweet comments, who knew how good that would make her feel :0) .

Children's Summer Holiday Challenge Card 2
Little Miss Crafty (my daughter) back here with another card she made to enter into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. After punching these butterflies in several color papers, she staggered three butterfly layers on top of each other and then popped the butterflies up to give it some dimension.
Sorry I couldn't rotate the picture...my computer was acting crazy.

Children's Summer Holiday Challenge Card 1
There is a Children's Summer Holiday Challenge going on over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge. My daughter was super excited when I told her about a challenge just for kids. I let her use my scraps to create cards or layout when she wants and she really like when I mess up and cut extra images or images that are too big or small with my Cricut, because she know I will give them to her. She does not have her own blog, so I'm posting it here for her. Here is a card she created:
Lol, the word at the top says "friends", but she punched it backwards.

Celebrating Your Birthday Summer Blooms
Its been a few days since I've been able to make something and post it. Today I got my new Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste cartridge and of course put everything on hold to play with it. I decided to cut something floral and used one of the flowers and stems on the cartridge to go with a color challenge at Papertrey Ink. I used a Papertrey Ink stamp from the Movers and Shakers set. I used CTMH Sorbet colored ink on the sentiment. I jazzed up the flowers with some buttons in my stash. I like the clean feel of this card and I think the colors came together great.
Here is the color challenge:

Summer Time VBS Shirt
Hello Crafty Friends,
I made this super cute shirt for the summer time Vacation Bible School (VBS) at my church. I had so much fun making this shirt. I cut all the lettering with my Cricut machine using some iron on glitter paper. I cut out an airplain from B is For Boy out of freezer paper and used it as a stencil on my shirt. I hand painted airplain inside the stencil and the word SKY.

Here is my inspiration, the theme for VBS.
Look how tiny I was able to cut the Bible verse out (1/2")
Doesn't the word SKY that I painted on look like clouds. You need a brush with bristles in the shape of a circle and then you dab on the paint for a cloud effect.
I didn't have the right type of yellow paint so I didn't make the plain the exact color like the logo on the paper as I intended to, my yellow was transparent so I couldn't paint it on. But after I painted it with orange I just squeezed out a glob of yellow so it would be a thick solid looking yellow color.
Here is the back of my shirt. Which was the Bible verses theme of our VBS.
The letters are a glittery black. Can you tell?

4th of July Birthday Card
I made this fun 4th of July card for my father-in-law whose birthday happens to be on the 4th of July. I used some scraps from a layout I made and voila! The stars where cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge at sizes from 1/2" to 1 3/4". I like this star the ends are not too sharp and pointy.
I will enter this card in the challenge at:
1. Card Makin Mamas - Red, white & blue

4th of July Layout 2012
Happy Friday!
With 4th of July around the corner, I decided to make a layout for our 2012 family scrapbook instead of making a card. The tags will hold a 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" photo. They were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge, inked with white chalk ink and I added a white wide eyelet and ribbon. The word "Freedom" was cut from Independence Day as was the "4th of July, but I used my Cricut markers to write it instead of cutting it. I then trimmed around it and and added a shadow by trimming a second color behind it. I added some Stickles, Glitter pen, and markers to the writing. This layout seems a little busy to me in colors in patterns, but its my "fireworks" layout, so that's what you get I guess. LOL.
I will enter this layout into these challenges:
1. Paper Issues -Picnics & Patriots
2. Crafty Sentiments Designs -Red, white & blue
3. Scrappy Moms Stamps - Patriotic Pride
4. Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Sporty and or Patriotic

This pattern paper was super thin, so I cut a cereal box and glued them together for added strength and thickness. Worked perfect.
Use the back measurement foot in your Crop A Dile to make sure all your punches are lined up evenly.
I needed some white wide eyelets...had none, so I used white embossing powder to cover them white. I first use a white paint marker which works, but was taking too long to dry (and I am impatient when putting a layout together) so I wiped it off and use embossing powder. Worked pretty good...but when you squeeze in your CAD it can chip the paint/embossing powder. You've been warned. Hehehe!
I used my tear edge ruler to make the torn strips of paper even.
I added some Stickles to the 4, but it made the three tiny stars inside the 4 almost disappear even though I Stickles around them. So I added some yellow glitter pen to try and bring them out again.
I added some diamond Stickles to "Freedom" and some brads around it. They look like fireworks.
I cut the stars with silver foil paper. So cute!

Who's Living Green?
Not only do I recycle every week, but I have myself a hot/cold reusable mug for coffee, tea, hot chocolate and any other drink I want to keep cold or hot for an extened period of time. I love this cup-- it works great and its microwavable! By using it I help the environment by reducing my carbon footprint on the Earth. Getting Cricky is on board too and having a giveaway for green goers. Go us!!!

Papertrey Ink June 2012 Blog Hop Challenge
Hello Crafty friends,
I have some beautiful sweet cards I made for the challenge at Papertrey Ink based on this photo inspiration:
I used the Papertrey Ink Movers and Shakers Sentiments on my cards. And some green and yellow paper and inks I had in my stash. I also inked my ribbon yellow, since I only had this style ribbon in white. I used some CTMH stamps to make my background paper. I made two cards for this challenge.

Father's Day Layout 2012
We had a good Father's Day. I hope everyone else made a special day of it too. I made this layout to put a couple of the pictures we took on Father's Day during our BBQ. I got the sketch from My Creative Time. I would of made it sooner, but I really wanted this the Man Stack paper to use on this layout and I'm so glad I was patient and waited until I had time to buy one at the store. I love the way it turned out. The BBQ paper and coordinating papers look perfect for our BBQ pictures:
I will enter my layout into these challenges:
1. My Creative Time - Scrappy Monday Sketch Challenge
2. D.L. Art - Thankful Thursday Challenge
Check back later this week to see the fun Strawberry Shortcake (80's cartoon) layout that goes with my Strawberry Shortcake costume I made a couple years ago. It's going to be sooooo cute! :0)
All the shapes are cut from Cricut Art Philosophy and the font is from Old West.

Father's Day Tie Card
Today I'm sharing a card I made for my husband for Father's day. I had a cartridge or two with ties on them, but I didn't like the shape or style of them. So I created my own tie design using my Gypsy and Cricut Art Philosophy to weld one together from other shapes. I heat embossed the first sentiment that says "You're the best" with some Close To My Heart "cocoa" brown colored embossing powder (one of the only places I've been able to find brown embossing powder). The second sentiment is just stamped with Olive Close To My Heart ink. The sentiment is too big for the space...I really should have left it off and stamped the inside of the card with that sentiment. But I still think the card looks cute and most importantly--masculine.
Here is my card:
I will enter into these challenges:
1. Penny's Paper Craft Challenge - #81 Father's Day
2. Heart 2 Heart Challenges - Father's Day
3. Stuck on U Sketches - All about fathers
4. The Pink Elephant - Masculine
