Celebrating Your Birthday Summer Blooms

Its been a few days since I've been able to make something and post it. Today I got my new Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste cartridge and of course put everything on hold to play with it. I decided to cut something floral and used one of the flowers and stems on the cartridge to go with a color challenge at Papertrey Ink. I used a Papertrey Ink stamp from the Movers and Shakers set. I used CTMH Sorbet colored ink on the sentiment. I jazzed up the flowers with some buttons in my stash. I like the clean feel of this card and I think the colors came together great.

Here is the color challenge:

Daisy Duck Happy Birthday Chicka

I made this card for my little cousin's birthday. I hope she likes it because I LOVE it and this Disney image was a lot of work to put together, so she better--LOL. I added some purple and white twine, a mini button and I embossed the sentiment. I also added some Stardust gel pen to her eyelids to give them some sparkle.

Guy Puppy Card

Hello paper lovers,
I made this cute card for my husband's birthday. It's so challenging for me to make manly cards for grown men. Most of my cartridges and supplies are very girly girl. But I managed this cutie pie card anyway. The puppy is cut from Animal Kingdom and the face was stamped with a Peachy Keen Face Stamp. The pretty Lagoon (turquoise) colored ink is from Close To My Heart. I  stamped the mouth first and then each of the eyes separately because the stamp was too big for the size of the dogs face, so the eyes had to be stamped closer together. Then I decided to make a second dog that I thought was sooo cute too, also cut from Animal Kingdom. So now I have an extra card for my stash.

I will enter the first card in the challenges at
1. Peachy Keen Stamps Blog - challenge 17 May sketch
2. Little Claire's Designs -Male Theme.

Sketch- Mother's Day Card

Oh goodness, I think this is my 4th post today. I am tired. So I'll be quick in sharing this card. I used my Cricut Imagine to print all the papers used (my machine is running out of ink, so the colors looked distorted). I added some ink and stamped background stamps on some of the flowers. The sentiment if from My Creative Time. The flowers are cut from Cricut Mother's Day Bouquet.

The sentiment continues in the inside of the card to say "Mother's Day"

I inked some vellum and cut the butterfly with a Martha punch then added some Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

This card will be entered into these challenges:
1. The Pink Elephant- All about Mom
2. Little Scrap Pieces- Mother's Day
3. More Than Favors- Mother's Day
4. Docerela Creations- Mother's Day

Green & Teal Mother's Day Card

Hello Crafty friends,

I'd like to show you this pretty Mother's Day card I made. I stamped the flower with a CTMH stamp called Just For You. The coordinating flower base was cut from the exclusive Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (the stamp and the Cartridge can be purchased through my CTMH shopping links). I also added some crinkle ribbon and used an EK border punch to create the bottom paper ruffles. I used CTMH inks to stamp the images. I think this card is pretty and turned out just like I was aiming for. I didn't want to stamp Happy Mother's Day on the front (I felt like it would take away from the card if I put it on one of the ruffles  (punched borders layers at the bottom). I think I like it better without a sentiment on front (which could have been stamped inside as an alternative). I used a My Pink Stamper sentiment.

I will enter into the following challenges:
1. Pumpkin Spice -use green, a stamp & ribbon
2. Little Scrap Pieces -use some type of flower(s)
3. My Pink Stamper -Mother's Day theme

St. Patrick's Day Layout March 2012

I made this St. Patrick's Day layout to go into our 2012 family scrapbook for the month of March. I do at least one layout for each month of the year. I started this tradition last year. I am just loving the end results and I really LOVE the way the cork looks on a layout. I will definitely be buying some more and adding it to other pages. The "Lucky" is a sticker I had in my stash from last year that I never ended up using. For the black and cream rose print paper I used my Imagine machine to print a sheet of paper from the Imagine Black and White Cartridge. I used Cricut Paper Doll Dress up for the shamrocks. I love the way it looks with this SPD them, I was going to use a black and cream gingham pattern paper, but opted for something more girly and out of the SPD box. I got my inspiration from MPS Designer, Court, of Courts Crafts. Thanks, Court!

I will enter this into the following challenges:

Challenge- Simon Says Stamps

I have a pretty Valentine's Day card I made for a sketch challenge at Simon Says Stamps. I just love the way it turned out. There was so much beautiful inspiration from the designers to get my creative juices flowing on this one. I hope you like it as much as I do. I found a brand new pack of embellishments from my Valentines collection that I never used. I knew at first glance I wanted to use the cute little cup of tea. I'm glad I did because I love how it all came together.

I embossed the purple card layer with the Cuttlebug Conversation Hearts folder. I traced over the sentiment with a purple Stardust gel pen as the writing was already on the paper but really faint.I used some Recollection follower I had and some heart brads and a round one that says LOVE. I added 3 mini buttons at the bottom to match the color of the paper because I needed them as part of the sketch, but I wanted them to not be so dominant on the card and instead fade into the paper a bit. I cut the scallop with a Spellbinder die and inked the edges with a sea green ink.

PKS Sketch Challenge 64- Cricut Imagine Bird Cage Printed on Balsa Wood Card

Hello, I am excited to share this card with you. I finally remembered to grad some Balsa wood (even though its called Basswood on the price tag) from Joann when I went this weekend.
I cut the wood with a Spellbinder Die in my Cuttlebug. This piece of wood in the card is 1/32 inches thick, which is thinner than the 1/16. I like the 1/32 better. It lays flatter, its cuts easier and has a smoother texture in the wood grain. I also uses my new Kiwi Lane designs for the pink and cream colored paper layer, but it is hard to see with the other things on top. I will do another card soon featuring Kiwi Lane card designs. I finished this card just in time to enter it in the PKS challenge. I hope you like my card as much as I do!!!

Disney Mickey Page Layout

Here is a Disney Page I made this week. I didn't have any mickey print paper, so I cut the circles out of various color papers with my Cricut and glued them on the white paper. So now it looks like a Mickey polka dot pattern paper. I also made the Mickey ears and writing on the blue and green paper using my Cricut and Cricut markers. I used the Mickey and Friends cartridge and Mickey Font. The tags were cut from Plantin and I embellished them with some Mickey buttons. I embossed one of the photo mats with a Mickey Cuttlebug folder.
