Layout of Colors & More Challenge

Today I have a layout I made to enter into a couple challenge. I wanted something that was simple and minimal (because I really wanted the background paper to shine--its so pretty to me). One of the challenges I will enter is the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge- Color Inspiration 19. Here is a picture of the color inspiration and I absolutely LOVE the combo:

I will also enter this layout at My Creative Time (use buttons & one photo challenge) and lastly Crafty Calender Challenge (theme is things with wings)

Here is the layout I made for these challenges. I love the clean simplicity of it. I didn't have time to pick up my pictures today at the photo center to add it right away to the layout, but I will add a 4x6 where the blank 4x6 is laying so you get the idea.

I stamped an eye in gray ink (from a snowman assortment) from Peachy Keen Stamps on the bird. I also distressed the bird with the new Tim Holtz purple seasonal distress ink.

The bird 4" and the decorative circles 7" are cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the font 1.5" are from Nursery Rhymes.

Floral Engagement Card

Here goes my second post for today. I have a sweet friend that just got engaged, so I knew I would make this card for her. I scrap lifted this idea from Scrappin Cookie. The card was beautiful and I knew I had to make one too. The card has a great sketch.

I cut the beautiful roses from the Cricut Art Philosophy cart (that really is a must have cart).

I added some Stickles to the cream colored rose to make it sparkle. I also used a script stamp on the banner to give the card a print paper. The inks and brown (hart to find color) embossing powder are from Close To My Heart.

I will enter this card into a challenge at Cardz TV. The theme is engagement, wedding or wedding shower.

Eat Cupcakes First Birthday Card

Time for a cupcake. To bad its made of paper--lol. I prefer the real sugary kind. I guess this one will have to do.
This is one of my favorite Cricut cupcake cuts. I stamped it with a coordinating stamps from CTMH.

I will enter this card into 3 challenge:
1. My Creative Time - Birthday theme.
2. Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Sweet Tooth.
3. Capture the Moment - use scraps for the background & PTI product ( I used PTI white embossing powder-LOVE it)

Scrappy Monday Layout Challenge- Life Is Beautiful

Happy Mother's Day!!! I hope everyone has a special day.

The layout I'm sharing today was made for a challenge at My Creative Time. Emma had a sketch for us to follow in the challenge.
Here is the sketch

Here is my layout

A 5x7 picture will go where the white rectangle is.

I cut these cute shaped tags with Cricut Birthday Bash at 3.5". I used Distress ink to color them.
The sentiments are from My Creative Time.

I am loving these wide eyelets.

This button was the perfect touch. It looks vintage and has writing on it to match my paper.
The used a Sew Ribbon punch to weave the ribbon.

This is what the layout looks like without the faux picture.

I JUST LOVE THIS LAYOUT AND COLOR COMBO!!!

Distress Stamped Happy Birthday Card

Hello, hello,

Hope your weekend was fabulous. Mine flew by! I feel like I didn't get to spend anytime with my family. Anyway, moving on to the card I made for the Simon Says Stamps Challenge. The theme there this week is birthdays in honor of Simon Says Stamps 3rd birthday!!! I was watching a Tim Holtz video the other day where he distress a card and stamped it using only one ink color and I thought it looked amazing and yet was so super simple. I had to try it too. I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink and stamped the card with some butterfly stamps I had in my stash.

I decided to go back and add some Viva Decor Pearl pen in the middle of the butterflies.

Sorry for the dark pictures. They always turn out faulty when I take them at night time. But I wanted to take the pics right away when I was done with the card and get them loaded to my blogs so...tada. hehehe :0)

Sock Monkey Cards

I decided to make this monkey for a couple of animal challenges and an anything goes challenge. He is the cute little sock monkey on the B is for Boy cartridge. He is cut at 4". I made three of these cards and stamped different sentiments of each one. I like how they all turned out. These will be great for friendship, birthdays, baby boy and much more. I inked the edges of the blue gingham card and the cream strip of paper.

I'm Guest Designer on Die Cuttin' Divas Today!

Hello Crafty friends,

Today is an exciting day as I am a guest designer at Die Cuttin’ Divas. Today's theme is the Three R's:  make something with a rosette, ribbon and rhinestones. Believe it or not, this is actually my try at rosettes. Turns out they are super quick and easy to make and they add great dimension to your project. The pink paper with the black dots was made on my Cricut Imagine using the Black and White Cartridge (which I heart).

On the first card with the tic tac toe, I cut the squares with Spellbinders Square Swatches. I used the 2nd to smallest die to go on my 5.5" card. I used my Sew Easy Stamper to make the lines between the squares. I made my rosettes from 3 strips of paper cut at 1/2" x 6" and then scored them every 1/4". I used ribbon as my line to mark my tic tac toe win. I used some iRocks for my rhinestones. I inked the edges by using some Spun Sugar Distress Ink on the edge of the card. I did not put a sentiment on this card because I'm not sure for whom or what occasion I will pass this card out, so I will stamp this one later when the time comes.

The second card is a standard A2 size and I used the pink and black dot paper for the background. I used this really wide 1.5" black and white striped ribbon. The rosette is made from a strip of paper cut at 1.5" x 12 inches. I cut at 1" circle for the center and added a pink flower rhinestone on top of the center. I glued the rosette on top of the ribbon. Next, I added a tag with a sentiment, both which are from My Creative time, called Teeny Tags.
I really LOVE the way these cards came out--they are so cute. And you don't even need a Cricut to make them (you can easily use pattern paper from a stack and the Cricut Imagine wouldn't be necessary).

Thanks for dropping by.

Don't forget to hop on over to Die Cuttin’ Divas and take a look around. Crafty friends don't feel shy, new followers are always welcome here at Sew Sweet N Crafty. Continue the fun and take a look at my other projects.

Challenge: Simon Says Stamps- Any Thing Goes

I used my Cricut Imagine Buccaneer cartridge to make this card. I wanted to make a card that was masculine enough to give to a boy. I embossed the sentiment from PBD. The card base is 5.5x5.5. I inked the edges with Distress Ink. The parrot is popped up with a pop dot. I like this card, I think its fun and cool.

Challenge Me Monday- #92 Warming Up With Hot Cocoa

I am very excited to share this card I made using my Love You A Latte Cartridge. That cart is AWESOME. I love it and used it for the first time finally. I bought some Scrappy Mom stamps that go perfect with this cartridge too. I will be sending this card to my friend who fell at work, got injured and has to go back to work next week (so I thought this sentiment was perfect). I will slip a packet of hot cocoa in the envelope too.

I made this cocoa cup to enter into a challenge at Fantabulous Cricut.

Here is the newest card I am in love with and I absolutely heart the sentiment too! I will be posting a similar card this week will more details for something sweet I will be entering, stay tuned...

Challenge- Holiday Thank You Card

Well, I thought I had promised the last of my winter season & Christmas cards. But, I found a challenge that called for me to make another holiday themed thank you card so here it is.

I cut the gingerbread girl from Winter Frolic at 4.5" and stamped a PKS face on it. I used white 3D paint so it would look like icing pipped onto the cookie. I tied a bow on her head, added some red heart iRocks and popped this cutie up on some pop dots. The edge of the card has been inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Joy's Life.

I will be entering this card at Docerela Creations: Design Team Post #4 Holiday Thank You Card
